The following House Rules have been established in order that all members may enjoy the Arcadia Forum. Please be aware that this Forum can be viewed by an international public and posts should, therefore, not cause offence.
It is understood that, by posting on the Arcadia Forum, members have read and agree to abide by the House Rules, as stated below:
1. Arcadia will not accept applications for registration of user names that:
1.1 contain website or email addresses;
1.2 contain contact information, i.e. phone numbers, postcodes etc;
1.3 appear to impersonate another living person;
1.4 contain swear words or are otherwise objectionable.
2. Arcadia Forum Threads
Members are requested to stay on the subject of a particular thread. If members find that their posts do not relate to the subject of the thread, they are requested to begin a new thread.
3. Arcadia reserves the right to delete messages which:
3.1 are considered likely to disrupt a thread or provoke attack, insult or offend others;
3.2 are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise discriminatory;
3.3 contain swear words or other language likely to offend;
3.4 break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity. This includes breach of copyright (members must acknowledge their sources), defamation and contempt of court;
3.5 are considered to be ‘spam’, i.e. posts containing the same, or similar, message posted on multiple occasions;
3.6 are seen to impersonate another living person;
3.7 reveal personal details which could lead to a person’s safety being compromised.
4. Personal Attacks
4.1 Reasoned discussion and argument is encouraged. However, if discussions are reduced to personal abuse and/or personal attacks, posts containing such content will be deleted and a warning issued to the Forum member posting such content.
4.2 Repeated posting of personal and offensive comments about individual members of the Arcadia Forum or other members of the public may be considered harassment. Arcadia reserves the right to remove such messages and take action against those responsible.
5. Contravention of the House Rules
5.1 Posts will be deleted if they break the House Rules.
5.2 Arcadia Forum members who contravene the House Rules will be warned by the Moderator up to a maximum of two times. Upon the issue of a third warning to a Forum member within a period of three months, a temporary ban of fourteen days will also be issued. Upon reinstatement, any subsequent warning within a three-month period will result in a permanent suspension from the forum.
5.3 Attempts to circumvent a temporary ban will immediately lead to a permanent ban. Attempts to circumvent currently include re-registering under an alternative user name and/or re-registering under a different IP address.
5.4 The Arcadia Forum Moderator reserves the right to permanently delete members at any time, should circumstances require.
6. Updates to House Rules
Arcadia reserves the right to update the House Rules as necessary and will notify Forum members by posting any such changes on the Arcadia Forum.
